This week the South African Music industry lost one of their award winning rap artists. We all know that AKA was one of the dopest and coolest rappers in the continent, and the fashion fraternity has also lost a fashion icon in making. Over the years we have watched AKA grow both musically and style wise, from when he was a teen caught up in bad fashion choices, fumbling his way around style to the refined man he became rocking tailored suits. It is safe to say AKA had all the problems in the world but definitely not when it comes to sartorial issues, every time he stepped out or it was time to snap a pic, he was always on point. Some are still haunted by his red carpet moment at the Cruz Vodka SA Fashion Week last year. AKA was by far best dressed.

Of course that look could not be possible without designer extraordinaire, the man who is behind many best dressed men in South Africa, Ole Ledimo. House of Ole founder and CEO Ledimo who is behind most of AKA's formal looks and his red carpet moments such as the one Cruz party says working with the rapper was the easiest and at the same time advantageous. Both Ole and AKA have been named best dressed by the likes of GQ magazines to South African Style awards. "He paid attention to detail, he knew what fabric, cut , for any designer that is the most exciting challenge because you dealing with the client who knows what they want and how they want it, such as the Cruz party outfit, that was custom made and he knew exactly how he wanted it to be,' Ole said.
INVESTING IN FASHION
Contrary to popular belief, Ole says investing in fashion can also help one to elevate their brand. " Investing in yourself will never be a bad thing, it is part of taking your brand seriously, looking good is part of the game ,' he adds. AKA was definitely a testimony of that, we have seen the Fella In Versace hitmaker flaunting his Rolex which comes at a hefty price, expensive shades that could cost more than an illegal RDP house in the hood to expensive cars and travels . It is safe to say that if there was an international best dressed artist, he would definitely represent South Africa , he gave us looks.
