TV producer Mfundi Mvundla has a lot to celebrate this year after he was declared cancer free. Zimoja can confirm that the Generations creator has won the battle against against one of the most deadliest diseases.

KEEPING A LOW PROFILE

zimoja can reveal that Vundla was surrounded by his family, wife Karen, close friends and medical team to help him fight the cancer. He is even back at work ."He is doing well back at work and taking it easy,' adds the source.  Another source says it was hard, especially for his family and friends, considering his age. But by the grace of God he survived. "God is amazing we grateful for his recovery!' a source exclaims. When called for comment Mfundi asked how ZiMoja found out about the news that were only known by his close friends and family. "How do you know that I had cancer because it is a private matter?" Vundla then proceeded to say, 'anyway, I have been advised by my family not to do any interviews pertaining to that matter'

DISCOVERING THAT HE HAD CANCER

According to another Zimoja source at Generations, it all started with a trip to the doctor after he had been complaining about a pain and discomfort not knowing his life would change." The pain was not even that excruciating but after doctors ran some tests, which came back positive, he was immediately treated for cancer,' adds the source.
It remains unclear how many months he spent in hospital and what type of cancer he had, but according to the source he was in and out of hospital most of last year. Fast-forward to today, Mfundi is mostly home enjoying small significant things like playing with his grandkids and children.

A COLOURFUL CV

Born on on 10th September 1946 in Western Native Township, in Johannesburg, Mfundi  is famous for having founded  Morula Pictures and for creating Generations, Backstage and Generations:The Legacy. His career dates back to 1993, when a great opportunity that required one to submit a proposal for a SABC soap opera to the SABC station. This was Mfundi's opportunity to make it big in the industry.
