‘She was fine and only complained of a fever' - Tributes pour in for #BBMzansi contestant Dinky Bliss

The death of Dinky Bliss has shocked many in the entertainment industry

The family of Big Brother contestant Rethabile 'Dinky Bliss' Potsane has confirmed her passing after a short illness. Dinky passed on at Hillbrow Clinic after complaining of a fever.Speaking to Zimoja on behalf of Dinky's family, her manager Bukhosi Heshu says he spoke to Dinky on Friday, and she complained of "feeling feverish.'        "This happened so suddenly. She was fine and only complained of a fever,' Bukhosi says. "On Friday Dinky had a mild fever. Saturday, it became worse until her neighbours suggested they take her to the doctor. She was with her two-year-old son in her apartment in Kempton Park,' he says. "We didn't think it was anything serious, it was like any other fever with coughing and headaches,' he adds. "The neighbours also have kids, so they took him and he was playing with other kids, and they distracted him while taking her to the clinic.'

 MINUTES BEFORE HER PASSING

Bukhosi says Dinky was admitted to the Hillbrow Clinic where doctors were running medical tests. "She didn't have any other illnesses, Dinky was fresh and fit,' he says. "When we spoke, it sounded like a regular flu, not something that could kill her.' Bukhosi says he was planning to go with Dinky to the clinic on Monday for more tests and to collect results but got the call to say he did not make it. "She was still waiting for the results on Monday. I was going to go with her to the clinic and we were going to discuss some work as well. But she died in the early hours of Sunday. We will wait for a post-mortem to be done in order for the family to get closure.' he adds.

 DINKY'S LAST DAYS

After being evicted from season three of Big Brother Mzansi, Dinky had been working as a presenter and MC for events. "She was hosting a show on Channel O every Friday at 6pm,' Bukhosi says. "She was very busy and had endorsement from Clover, Eskort and Colgate. She was busy MCing gigs and I was always with her. So, she was doing really well after Big Brother, but she was very lowkey and didn't like people in her business all the time. She only posted the results of her hard work.' Bukhosi says he will miss their friendship, working relationship and hard work. "This is indeed a loss for her family and the entertainment industry.' Born and raised in Durban, Dinky lived with her two-year-old son in Johannesburg. "The son would visit the grandmother. Breaking the news to him will be very difficult. The family is still coming to terms with everything that's happened, and we need to give them time," Bukhosi adds.
