‘People say it will end in tears and I agree' - Sello Maake Ka Ncube on his one-year marriage

Sello Maake KaNcube and his wife Pearl

They recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in October. This month they tattooed each other's names on their ring fingers as a sign of their commitment to each other. With an age difference of 22 years, the veteran actor, playwright, and director Sello Maake K-Ncube (62) and Pearl Mbewe Maake KaNcube(40) are madly in love and publicly demonstrate their undying love at every chance they get.

 PAST CHALLENGES

?This is Sello's third marriage. Both his previous marriages lasted under a year. Sello has through the years opened up about being abusive in his previous relationships and how he has learned to deal with his anger and past trauma, which led him to be abusive. He has opened the Sello Maake Foundation to help men ,young and old, deal with depression, money, and past traumas and tackle issues pertaining to self-love and family. In his marriage with Pearl, Sello says for the first time he is happy in a marriage and reaching the year mark. "I love the fact that we have a healthy relationship with great communication,' he says.

CHOOSING EACH OTHER EVERY DAY

They have been inseparable since October 2020. "Never beg anyone to be in your life,' Sello says. "People make choices daily and you need to be grateful when someone chooses to love you each day!' He says what seems to be working in his own marriage is he married a woman who is comfortable in her skin and knows what she wants in life. "We both bring 100% of ourselves. She is extremely good at managing my brand and career, I'm extremely good at making sure I deliver the best performances ever so that I make her job easy,' he adds, "Bottom line, is we strive to support each other at all costs.'

IT WILL END IN TEARS

Sello and Pearl have received negative criticism, mostly due to the age difference and his past as a former abuser. "People say it will end in tears and I agree, all marriages end in tears, either through a divorce or through the death of the other partner,'he says. "So, don't live your life scared of what people will say. Focus on yourself and your happiness. Make that woman feel and know that she is the only one for you. My wife is what God ordered for me and I pray each person finds their Pearl in this lifetime!'
