Hardly a month after kwaito music star Mampintsha's death, his mother has also died after a short illness. Zamanguni Gumede has not been well since her son's death.She reportedly succumbed to a stroke yesterday morning at Wentworth Hospital in KwaZulu Natal.
CONFIRMING THE NEWS
Mampintsha's younger brother Scoop, confirmed the sad news to ZiMoja but refused to comment further. "Can you please call Tira or someone? I can't talk now; we are still in hospital ", he said. Gumede did not take her son's death well. Although she had the stroke before her son, the family did not see her death coming."We thought she was going to make it. Her death comes as a surprise.The family is devastated, "says one source. The source adds, "clearly her world stopped after Mampintsha's death; she even lost appetite.'
MAKING PEACE WITH BABES
Before her death, the 64-year-old smoked a peace pipe with her daughter-in-law Babes Wodumo during Mampintsha's funeral. Babes publicly declared that she forgave Mnguni following their many public spats. During the funeral, Gumede, who walked in late surrounded by her friends and family, appeared fragile. Gumede allegedly collapsed and was rushed to hospital when she was denied access to view her son's body and not involved in planning Mampintsha's funeral. She was again admitted to hospital earlier this month with her daughter Pinky confirming to ZiMoja that her mother's health started deteriorating before her son's death and she had become worse and unable to speak or walk.
TREADING AFTER MAMPINTSHA'S DEATH
Meanwhile, Babes has been shooting up trends lists since the death of her husband, with videos of her performing at nightclubs and her live posts on social media going viral. A clip of Babes's alleged WhatsApp status, apparently showing CCTV footage from her home, has been making the rounds ons ocial media. In the video, the star narrates how a woman is wiping a bedroom door in a way the musician finds suspicious.Mampintsha's mother had previously expressed her disapproval of the Gqom star's behaviour while in mourning. Last year, the Queen of Gqom left tongues wagging when she swore at Gumede on social media, ranting about R1,500 she demanded and accusing her of having a drinking problem.
