Life is a celebration! RIP SupaMega

AKA was killed in Durban while on his birthday tour

SupaMega turned 35 on January 28and as per usual he had a line-up of birthday celebrations planned. Prior to his death he had just finished performing at a night club in Durban, Florida Road in KwaZulu Natal.

ALBUM DROP

The celebrations were to be a countdown for the drop of his much anticipated album MASS COUNTRY 27/02/2023 as he captioned it. AKA was booked to perform at various nightclubs around the country and images from his socials reveal that the celebrations he already had were a blast. He kicked off his celebrations at Montana club in Rosebank where he performed a day before his birthday.

HIS LAST BIRTHDAY, THE BEST

A day after his birthday, the popular rapper took to his Instagram to express gratitude for the love shown on his birthday: "Thank you for all your birthday wishes, the love and appreciation is overwhelming. From family, friends, and fans just know I don't take this for granted anymore. Every tweet, every post, there were so many and to be honest last night was too lit, I spent the entire day recovering. Thank you @Montanaclub and @dramabar_braam for a huge Mazza. We are about to hit the stage @propaganda Pretoria and I feel so special, so thank you for that. Best birthday ever. "

A HAPPY MAN

On his birthday, AKA shared a throwback picture of himself when he was a little boy and also a video clip of an interview where he walked out after he was asked about an affair with TV presenter Bonang Matheba, at the time, he was dating his babymama DJ Zinhle. AKA has also been expressing gratitude for the love he was receiving during his birthday celebrations, in his posts he cited that he felt special. He was excited to be performing in Durban without anticipating that the 10th of February he'd been raving about would be his last day performing. His last post was around 8pm on Friday night where he reminded his followers to pre-add his album MASS COUNTRY that was due to be dropped on the 27th this month.

KwaZulu Natal police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the murders. "I can confirm that a 35-year-old famous musician and his 34-year old bodyguard where shot dead on Florida Road in Durban on Friday night," Netshiundasaid.
