“I didn't pay him sh*t!” ?" Penny Lebyane speaks after DJ Fresh claims to have been paid R280 000 for legal fees

Penny Lebyane says she approached the court to have her name removed from the case

Accomplished radio host Penny Lebyane is fuming after DJ Fresh came forward to claim she paid his lawyers R80 000 while Ntisiki Mazwai paid R200 000 for their legal battle.?

DJ FRESH CLAIMS HE WAS PAID

Speaking as a guest presenter on a Podcast and Chill, Thato "Fresh' Sikwane shared how Ntsiki's irresponsible tweeting led him to sue her for defamation after calling him an abuser. In 2019 DJ Fresh revealed that Ntsiki had shared some "unsubstantiated' claims against him, calling him a rapist. DJ Fresh's name first appeared on "the list' of abusive men at the height of the "Me Too' movement. Ntsiki was one of the women who named the Ngivumele DJ an abuser. This was after a woman accused DJ Fresh and DJ Euphonik of drugging and raping her and three other women at a party in Johannesburg in 2011. However, the NPA, confirmed there were no prospects of "a successful prosecution on the available evidence because the evidence is insufficient."

?PENNY DRAGGED IN NTSIKI'S CASE?

Penny's name was then dragged into Ntsiki's case and she took to the court to ask that she be removed from the case. This is after she tweeted, "Imagine being a girl who's not famous trying to out your famous rapist abuser, ex-emotional abuser boyfriend, or even talk about your experience. Besides the worry that no one will believe you, we now know that no one wants to hear it, and he'll vehemently deny it. Until you're dead. If you were 17-years-old when it happened now, you are a professional career woman, probably married with children or with another man who doesn't want to hear it, or colleagues, or friends who cringe about it. Let go they all say cos you're the unstable one…So don't expect victims to say.' This led to DJ Fresh including Penny in the legal battle with Ntsiki which she vowed to fight. "I will not be victimised. I will never live in fear again. I was a child now l am grown. I know.?

PENNY SPEAKS UP

Speaking to ZiMoja, Penny says she was never part of DJ Fresh's battle with Ntsiki. "I never mentioned his name in my post. He dragged me into a matter that didn't involve me and Where did I pay R80 000? What would I be paying him for? I was not a respondent in his case, they dragged my name into Ntsiki's case. Mina ngingenaphi? I never called him a rapist,' she says. "I am not a respondent in their matter. I had a right to go and ask why my name was included in the case. He is constantly talking bullshit about me. This is annoying. I had every right to go to court. Behind the scenes, he said he made a mistake by including my name.'  Penny questions why she would pay DJ Fresh. "Why must I pay legal fees for? I wasn't going to sit and let him talk about me and include me in his case with Ntsiki. Nobody cares about my version of events. So I must pay for defending myself from a bully who has been bullying me for years.' Penny says his interview has been a trigger. "I didn't fuck*&g pay the guy. He must fuck off. I didn't fuck*&g pay him. He must fuck off. He needs to stop gloating. I don't know who paid him. He never got a cent from me. All I did was go to court and ask why my name is included in the case.' Penny adds that he needs to be called out. "I didn't build my name by slandering people. Everyone thinks I was with Ntsiki and I called him a rapist. I didn't do that, which is why he didn't sue me. He dragged me into Ntsiki's case. I am tired of being painted as a crazy woman. I am tired of it. He was giggling in that podcast; I saw a clip. I'm not watching it. He always drags me into his shit and no one says anything about it. I didn't call him a rapist. People need to call him out. He is obsessed. He needs to get over it,' she concludes.
