House deejay swindled thousands of Rands by booking manager

Known as one of the good boy of the deep house, DJ Oscar Mbo had to take the hardest decision in his music career and fire his booking manager, Yonela Nkosi, after she was found guilty of swindling thousands of rands using his name. Real name Oscar Mbongeni Ndlovu  from Pretoria, Oscar Mbo fired Nkosi and opened criminal charges against her.

DIRECTING FUNDS TO THE WRONG ACCOUNT

In a statement released last night by his company called The Ashmed Hour Records, Oscar Mbo started his statement by thanking his fans for their constant support they've given him over the years.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  "Supporting a brand that people did not believe could work given the climate of the music industry in the mainstream and because of we are the powerhouse today, I could not have done it without you. Ever since the brand started I have been blessed enough to have people in my corner who believed in me as much as I did in myself. I am grateful for what my team has been able to do for me over the years and I will forever be indebted to them for my success,' the statement reads. "Regrettably it has come to my attention that my former booking manager Yonela Nkosi has been taking bookings and fraudulently adding personal banking details to the invoice instead of the company details, using my name, my brand without my knowledge or consent. A  case has been opened with my local law enforcement  and due steps will be taken. We are working tirelessly to ensure that the money for these gigs is returned to the promoters as we unfortunately cannot attend them as there are other gigs that have been confirmed that clash with them.'

MORE PROMOTERS SCAMMED

When he was contacted for comment, Oscar Mbo didn't want to elaborate any further, saying that, "No comment." Oscar Mbo and Nkosi fallout began in January this year when three event promoters went to Twitter and accused him of pulling a no-show, this despite the fact they had paid the money in full. Oscar Mbo was dragged on Twitter and he was labelled a scammer in which he ended up deactivating his Twitter account. The promoters even shared screenshots of conversations between them and Nkosi. It further showed the amount of money that was paid to Nkosi, which it estimated to R60 000 in total but Oscar Mbo ended up paying back the money. It has now been established that there are more promoters that Nkosi defrauded using Oscar Mbo's name. Oscar Mbo is one of the most booked deep house  deejays in South Africa and last year December he had over 35 gigs in just one month. Oscar Mbo and his team refused to reveal where are the criminal charges has been laid. Nkosi couldn't be reached for comment
