Businesswoman and DJ Tira's wife Gugu Khathi has been in a four-year-long legal battle with her neighbour Cindy O'Neil and it seems the matter will not end anytime soon after their case was postponed.
CASE POSTPONED
Gugu and Cindy were meant to appear at court but due to loadshedding, the case had to be postponed. "Today was meant to be the last day of court, a four-year-long procession. State versus Cindy Oneal, my neighbour. I think you guys remember the story very well. We have been at it for some time now," Gugu updated her followers on social media. "We were supposed to hear judgement against Miss Cynthia O'Neil. Guys this load-shedding thing. Can you meet us halfway? I can't. I need results. I need this case behind me. I need to clear my name. I need to move on with my life." she wrote.
WORDS TURN VIOLENT
Gugu and Cindy (54) got into a nasty spat that turned violent one Friday evening in 2019 at the Willowbrook Estate, in Ruimsig. The two opened assault cases against one another at the Honeydew police station. In reports, Cindy's husband Benjamin claimed that he was on the roof putting up Christmas lights and decorations at his home when Gugu's son, Junior sped recklessly passed his house in his vehicle. He is not aware of what Junior had informed his mother, but Gugu allegedly came rushing to their home and gave a "second warning." Benjamin stated that he and his wife Cynthia were confused by the heated outburst and asked her to leave their property.
This led to a physical altercation and Gugu was allegedly pushed to the ground and dragged on the floor where she injured her leg and ended up in the hospital. Gugu allegedly retaliated and slapped Cindy on the face during the altercation. Last year, Cynthia made a brief appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates' Court where the matter was postponed to 22 September for further investigations.
BREAKING LOCKDOWN REGULATIONS
This is not the first time the two families got into a conflict. In a separate incident, Cindy's husband opened a case against DJ Tira and his friend NaaQMusic at Honeydew police station for allegedly contravening lockdown regulations by hosting a party during lockdown hours and having outsiders visiting.
