Troubled former Passenger Rail Agency of SouthAfrica (Prasa) CEO Lucky Montana has turned a new leaf. Following his troublewith the law, he has embarked on a spiritual journey and is now a sangoma.Chief Justice Raymond Zondo recently found that he played a significant role inthe capture of Prasa by determining which service providers would be allocatedmajor tenders.
A DAY INITIATE
Sources close to Lucky, who served as CEO at thecommuter rail agency until 2015, tell Zimoja that he recently had a homecomingceremony at his parent's home in Mamelodi, north-east of Pretoria. Closefriends and family members attended the ceremony. Sources claim that hisinitiation was not easy, as he had to go in and out of the initiation school toattend his other personal matters. "His initiation was tough because ofhis heavy schedule. He could not postpone it as it was becoming urgent becausehis ancestors wanted him to twasa as soon as possible. Unlike other initiates,he was forced to be a day initiate," the source says.
KEPT LOW PROFILE
The source adds that the whole process was kept lowprofile because Lucky did not want his personal business out there. But Montana vehemently denies being a sangoma. "If I had accepted Ubungoma, it wouldnot be a secret. I am a proud African (Ke Mokone wa Ntshi Dikgolo, KeMminaTlhantlhagane) who believes in the power and spirit of our ancestors. If I wasa sangoma, I would be practising this openly, without having to explain myselfto anyone. Unfortunately, I've not been chosen by our ancestors and given thespecial gift to be able to communicate with the spirits of thedeparted," he concluded.
