A war of words has erupted between event organiser Aviwe Gqomfo and award winning gospel artist Dumi Mkokstad over who must be voted on the Ukhozi FM song of the year. Gqomfo, through his Facebook page, accused Mkokstad of sleeping with other men. It is not clear why Mkokstad mentioned Gqomfo's name when he posted that people must vote for another gospel sensation, Betusile Mcinga.
DAMNING ACCUSATIONS
Gqomfo mentioned that Mkokstad never went to the mountain for initiation as per the Xhosa culture.He further claimed that Mkokstad was rich because he was sleeping with other man. The thread received over 700 comments before he deleted it. Contacted for comment Gqomfo denied posting such allegations against Mkokstad. "I don't know what you are talking about. I really don't know," he said before he hung up.
LEGAL ACTION
Mkokstad told Zimoja that he has since taken up the matter with his lawyer Thabani Mpungose as he is taking legal action against Gqomfo for defamation of character. "I don't want to comment further on the matter as I am taking legal action against Gqomfo. I am aware of the allegations he made against me through his Facebook page. It's long story to.explain why he made those allegations. My lawyer will desl with him," he said.
