The alleged person of interest that is said to have visited the Meyiwa family in Umlazi in Durban on Friday ,three days before the trial resumed yesterday, is none other than legendary artist Chicco Sello Twala. Twala is Longwe Twala's father, who is alleged to have been part of the people that were present at Kelly Khumalo's house the night the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was shot and killed in October 2014.

APOLOGISE TO FAMILY

Zimoja can now reveal that Thwala visited the Meyiwa family and it is alleged that he was scared to visit the Meyiwa family because he thought he was going to be chased away.Sources who spoke to Zimoja said that Chicco came to apologise on behalf of his son Longwe about what happened on the night Senzo was shot and killed. It is alleged that Chicco apologised about the manner in which he handled the passing away of Senzo and that he was supposed to come and meet the Meyiwa family since his son is also amongst the people that are said to have been present on the night Senzo died. "He flew all the way to meet Senzo's mother and apologise for taking too long to come meet the family. It is surprising that Chicco can wait for nine years to come and.meet the Meyiwas. He knows that his son is be implicated so that is why he came and plead with the family. They must find a solution for Longwe and Kelly Khumalo to tell the truth about what happened on the night Senzo died," the source said.

FAMILY CONFIRMS VISIT

Senzo's brother,Sifiso Meyiwa, confirmed Chicco's visit to his family. "I can confirm that Chicco did come to visit my mother. I'm not sure yet what was being discussed in that meeting since I haven't been home lately. Kindly call my sister Zama, surely she will be able to share with you on what went down since she was present in that meeting. I heard that he even offered my mother R5000 but I'm not sure if it's true or not," he said.

CHICCO WON'T CONFIRM OR DENY

Senzo's sister Zama confirmed that Twala visited but refused to divulge what the meeting was about."My mother will not be able to talk to you. Yes Chicco was here on Friday but he said he was around and thought he should pass by and greet my mother. I can't comment further on what went down, you.better speak to him on why he was here," she said. When Twala was contacted for comment he didn't deny or confirm the allegations."Write whatever they told you, I'm not going to say anything to you," he said..The trial continues today after it resumed yesterday.
